Justin Timberlake has long been penning romantic song lyrics, but now he's trying his hand at book writing-and somehow his sweet words about wife Jessica Biel translate just as sentimentally without music as they do with.

In his upcoming book Hindsight: And All the Things I Can't See in Front of Me, the singer writes passionately and honestly about how he met Biel, 36, at a surprise party in Los Angeles, immediately fell for her, tormented himself about asking her out, and how their relationship blossomed after.

"When I met Jess, it was undeniable how beautiful she is," Timberlake, 37, writes in an excerpt published on Monday on Entertainment Weekly. "I made some sort of sarcastic comment, really dry. Nobody got it except her. She laughed, and I noticed, all of a sudden, and in the way where you wonder if a person's like you, if they have a very dry, dark sense of humor too."

The singer goes on to explain how they danced that evening (to "Lucky Star") but he didn't ask for her number-a fact that haunted him for days as quickly realized he was smitten.

"Thoughts kept leaping into my mind: I'm kind of really interested in that girl," Timberlake writes. "There was just something about that girl. Kind of interested in that girl. Goddamn it."

Luckily, a friend later brought Biel to one of Timberlake's concerts and after a fortuitous bus ride, the singer was able to snag the actress's digits that led to weeks of phone chats and eventually a full blown relationship.

(In 2012, Timberlake admitted in an interview that he "had to be pretty persistent in order to get her to say yes" to a date. "I have a fair amount of tenacity and if I want something I stick to it. And in the end she agreed.")

In the excerpt, Timberlake also admits Biel "changed my life."

"We've had a lot of unforgettable times," he writes. "She's become a huge influence on my life, and I have such admiration for her, especially seeing her as a mother now. But I had admiration for her before. She's a very good writer. She's a poet. She's a tremendous actor. She's funny. Very funny. And she's one of the most patient people I've ever met. So, could finding someone who covers for your shortcomings be a thing that plays well for relationships?

He continues, "She changed me. She changed my life. All of that is in Mirrors. Not the details. But the way it felt to have my life be touched by her," he writes, referencing his 2013 single.

In the book, he also reveals he penned the song when the couple were living together and not engaged, but he was moved to write it because his and Biel's relationship mirrored his grandparents "long-lasting love."

"I know that's what I have with my wife," Timberlake writes.

The singer and actor met in 2007 and were engaged in 2011 in Montana. They were married in Italy in 2012 (Biel wore a pink dress and walked down the aisle to a Timberlake tune). And in April 2015, they welcomed a son, Silas Randall. Since then, the two have kept fans swooning by posting adorable and supportive Instagrams to each other. Biel even made a music video appearance in early 2018!
